Grain Elevator Revisited

Grain Elevator Revisited: I had scanned this medium format film image back in 2008 and decided to rework it today.  Fortunately I scanned all my images in DNG format using Vuescan on a Nikon 9000, and I work from Lightroom, so the original 250Mb scan was readily available.  There is a huge amount data in these scan files (7800 x 5700 pixels scanned as 48bit color and then converted to B&W) and it was quite easy to realize what I had in mind for the image.  I started here:

The weather was perfect for this shot.  I had to wait until the people cleared out, but it was a chilly Autumn morning so there were not many around.  This is one of those shots that I had in my mind long before I was onsite.

The Pentax P67 55-100mm zoom has contributed to numerous superb shots; it was sharp with MF film and it is amazing on the 645D.
